EarthLore Communications is proud to be a vibrant, contributing member
of the Aboriginal community. Our direct involvement with a number
of activities helps to ensure we stay plugged into — and understand
from personal experience — the myriad of issues, influences,
and concerns faced by Aboriginal people.
Our community work also enables us to bring greater insight and
sensitivity to our clients’ communication challenges while
giving us an opportunity to give back to the community we are keenly
interested in helping.
Activities that we are, or have been, involved with in 2005 include:
- Board of Odawa Native Friendship Center EarthLore
volunteers its senior executive, John Dione, to help this non-profit
organization dedicated to providing services to Ottawa’s
Aboriginal community. Visit: www.odawa.on.ca
- EarthLore Eskimos
We proudly sponsor an annual, seasonal hockey team that’s
dedicated to building the self esteem of Inuit and First Nations
youth.
- Canadian Aboriginal Science and Engineering Association
We volunteer senior time to foster and encourage Aboriginal participation
in science fairs across the country.
- Aboriginal Intern Students
We regularly and enthusiastically welcome the placement of Aboriginal
students who are preparing for a career in graphic design or communications
and require hands-on, field experience as part of their certification
requirements.
- The Inter-Provincial Association of Native Employment
We are an active member of the board of directors for the Ontario
chapter of this non-profit organization that is dedicated to enhancing
and furthering Native employment across Canada. Visit: www.iane.ca
